Sick Visits
Pelham Healthcare Associates offers same-day, sick visit appointments to current patients who become unexpectedly ill and need medical attention quickly. There’s no need to head to the emergency room for relief from flu symptoms, a sore throat, or a tick bite — we can get you in to see a doctor even on short notice.
Our patients pay the same co-pay for a sick visit as they would for a regularly scheduled office visit. Avoid the high costs of the ER and call us directly for a sick visit appointment (no walk-ins, please).
Sick Visits are not intended to replace the ER in an emergency situation. If you are experiencing a life-threatening health issue, call 911 and go to your nearest hospital emergency facility.
Immigration Medical Exams
The physicians at PHA are authorized to provide Immigration Medical Examinations. Medical examinations for US immigration purposes must be completed by an authorized physician. It is recommended that medical examinations be completed prior to immigration interviews to avoid delays in application processing.
Medical examinations performed by non-authorized physicians will not be accepted. The medical examination includes a review of the applicant's medical history, physical examination, chest X-ray, and blood tests.
Merrimack Valley Sleep Center
Merrimack Valley Sleep Center (MVSC) is an independent sleep diagnostic testing facility, conveniently located adjacent to PHA in Suite 3 of the 49 Atwood Road medical park.
Meena Mehta, MD, FCCP, a Board Certified Sleep Specialist and Pulmonologist, established the sleep center— the second of only two independent diagnostic centers in NH. According to the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, more than 70 million people in the U.S. have a sleep disorder, and are at risk for Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) alone. As an independent diagnostic testing facility (IDTF), MVSC offers a lower cost alternative to a hospital-based sleep study— this is particularly beneficial for individuals with high-deductible insurance plans as well as for those without health insurance.
With an appropriate referral from a primary care physician, MVSC will contact the patient to schedule an overnight diagnostic sleep study to record their sleep pattern. MVSC has two comfortable, well-decorated bedrooms to help patients feel at home during their overnight stay for sleep diagnostic study. Based on the results, Dr. Mehta or another certified sleep physician will evaluate the diagnostic data, provide a detailed treatment plan to the referring physician and provide each patient with appropriate follow-up care.
Diagnostic Studies that are provided at MVSC include:
Polysomnogram (PSG): an all-night diagnostic study for the diagnosis of sleep disorders.
CPAP/Bi-level Titration: an all-night therapeutic study to determine appropriate levels of CPAP or Bi-level Therapy for the treatment of sleep related breathing disorders such as sleep apnea.
Split Study: a combination study to diagnose and treat sleep related breathing disorders in one night if possible. Certain criteria for severity must be met.
Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT): includes both an all-night diagnostic study and an all-day series of naps. It is most commonly used to diagnose Narcolepsy.
